Daiichi Sankyo supports World Thrombosis Day 2017
We at Daiichi Sankyo strive to reduce death and disability caused by thrombotic diseases such as venous thromboembolism (VTE) and atrial fibrillation (AF) for more than half a century. This is why we join the global movement to "Know Thrombosis" and support World Thrombosis Day (#WTDay) on October, 13. Worldwide, one in four people die from causes related to thrombosis.1 Together with #WTDay we want to focus attention on this often overlooked and misunderstood condition and place a spotlight on thrombosis as an urgent and growing health problem. The worldwide day is not only aimed at increasing global awareness but also to educate about the causes, risk factors, symptoms, evidence-based prevention and treatment of thrombosis. We ourselves especially would like to emphasize that despite both worrying statistics and the unpredictable nature of the disease, there is real hope for patients.
