Prasugrel

The active agent of Efient®, prasugrel, was jointly discovered by Daiichi Sankyo and its Japanese research partner Ube Industries. The further development and promotion of Efient® are being carried out in alliance with Eli Lilly and Company.

An anti-platelet agent, prasugrel is used to prevent atherothrombotic events in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
