In fiscal year 2010, Daiichi Sankyo has achieved €587 million net sales in Europe. These results were obtained by almost 2,500 employees in 12 European affiliates.
In fiscal year 2010, Daiichi Sankyo invested €1.72 billion worldwide in research and development, or 20.1 per cent of its net sales.

Net sales

Daiichi Sankyo Europe's net sales have increased steadily and strongly in recent fiscal years. By 2012, the company aspires to reach sales figures of about €1.2 billion including Ranbaxy's European sales.

Today, European turnovers are about €587 million. In terms of sales, Europe is the third most important market for the Daiichi Sankyo Group. The biggest markets here for Daiichi Sankyo are Germany, France, Italy and Spain.

The sales projection of €1.2 billion including Ranbaxy's sales in Europe represents the planned organic growth of the existing portfolio and the market introduction of products stemming from the company's own research and development pipeline. It does not take into consideration potential acquisitions of other pharmaceutical companies and their products or in-licensing of products from other enterprises.
